Hotpoint is a renowned British brand famous for its home appliances. It was founded in the year 1922 in UK. Recently it was taken over by their Italian competitor Indesit. In 1920 they collaborated with their rival GE forming the HEAC (Hotpoint Electric Appliance Company Limited). The first brand from them was a toaster. Again in 1929 they associated with AEI (Associated Electric Industries) group and became the member of The General Electric Company. Until 1989 Hotpoint continued as a subsidy of AEI but after that they merged with the new division of GEC. In North America “Hotpoint” is the brand of GE. In the year 2008 Indesit purchased the final share for US$57, 120, 00.
